Matthew Behan, CEO of Team Hive, told Polygon via email that the trailer was for a game now called fashion show that the studio is developing to fortnite using Unreal Editor.
“This is not a 'fan-made' game,” Behan said. “Our fashion show will have a completely different title. We've had this game in development since mid-2023 after a popular fashion brand approached us about integrating it into our popular Fortnite experiences. Most of our current games are shooters, so we needed a solution to seamlessly integrate hot products into brand deals.”
Behan said that the use of the phrase “dress your best to impress” in the trailer was intentionally differentiated from “dress to impress” to avoid misleading or confusing players.
Originally released in 2023, Dress to impress is a competitive dress-up game hosted on the Roblox gaming platform. The game exploded in popularity last year and its Roblox page says it has over 5.5 billion total player logins at the time of publication.
