You've seen no-hit runs in Pokémon and FromSoftware games, maybe you're already bored of them, but I promise you've never seen anyone do a perfect run of Guitar Hero 2, starting from scratch if they miss even a single note.
Streamer Acai perfectly completed 74 songs in Guitar Hero 2 this weekend, never missing a note and earning a streak of full-game combos. Seen by a reset era user, have apparently become the first in the world to complete the challenge.
Acai tweets an excited message in all caps: “GUITAR HERO 2 PERMADEATH COMPLETE. 74/74.” The entire run lasts over eight hours and they are absolutely focused throughout. Surprisingly, it only took them a little over a dozen tries. Your stream says 15, but the congratulatory challenge screen says 17, so maybe one or two were just tests to get an idea of how the challenge works.
The message says: “Holy shit, you did it! No glitches either? WOW!” Wow, indeed. I played Guitar Hero in an arcade and it's very difficult. I did well, but I can't imagine ever being good enough to play the entire game perfectly.
When Acai reached the last songs, the conversations on his stream went crazy. Before the last attempt, he had only made it halfway, 37 songs out of 74. When he finally completes the last song, he shouts, “I did it! I did it!” with an expression of disbelief on his face.
To play, you'll need a modified Xbox 360, and TheGamer notes that Acai also used a modified guitar. Therefore, it will be difficult for you to recreate this feat on a technological level alone, but even if you had all the right tools, I doubt you would be able to achieve it.
