Mumbai . Actress Neeta Mohindra, who played the role of Kailasha Bua in the television show 'Bheema', told that she has done PhD in the field of arts.
The actress shared that despite having a deep passion for the art of acting and theatre, she worked towards developing a strong academic portfolio.
The actress has been working in television for 4 decades now. He said, “I was fond of theater from the beginning. Although I was not sure whether I would be able to enter this industry or not. I acquired a solid educational background. She did her Master of Arts and PhD and became a college professor.
He further added, “Even while teaching, I continued acting and attended workshops in Germany and America. I am from Punjab and I made my TV debut in 1984. Before this, I was deeply involved in theater and moved from anchoring to acting in plays.
The actress feels that auditions are a constant part of an actor's life. She got the opportunity to play the role of Kailasha Bua through an audition. He was called for a mock shoot which went smoothly, and before he knew it, he was selected for the role.
Talking about her role in the show, she said, “I am thoroughly enjoying the role of Kailasha Bua. It's been a while since I played a negative role, because I have mostly played positive roles, especially that of a mother. My previous roles became so iconic that people in Punjab started calling me Nirupa Roy.
The actress feels that her role allows her to break the shackles of stereotypes that she has faced over the years.
He further added, “Kailasha Bua allows me to break that image. She is a powerful, authoritative figure in her community, whose word is law, and who poses significant challenges to Bheema and his family. The character has many layers and I am completely immersed in it.”
