The title of the upcoming Evil Dead sequel has been revealed, and it looks like we're in for another gory, drippy adventure.
Director Sébastien Vaniček posted the first page of the script, titled Evil Dead Burn, on his Instagram. Look at the photo below.
Evil Dead Rise, directed by Lee Cronin, was released in 2023 and effectively relaunched the franchise, earning rave reviews and grossing $147 million on a $14 million budget. Lily Sullivan and Alyssa Sutherland play estranged sisters whose reunion is interrupted when their children find a certain mysterious book and unleash an all-powerful demon.
Another Evil Dead sequel is on the way, this time directed by The Last Stop in Yuma County's Francis Galluppi.
Bruce Campbell, who starred in Sam Raimi's original trilogy and will executive produce Evil Dead Burn, recently commented on the new film: “Well, we're always going to have them pay some respects to the franchise. It's not even a franchise. This It really came out of nowhere. We're two movies past Ash. So, the old man, no one cares about him anymore, so it's okay.
Vaniček is best known for directing the French horror Vermine (titled Infested in the US). The film, which arrived on Hulu in April, shows a species of deadly spiders descending on a French housing complex and was dubbed the “scariest movie of the Venice Film Festival.” The film won Best Picture and Best Director at Fantastic Fest, and won a Special Jury Prize at the Sitges Film Festival.
