Former God of War art director Rafael Grassetti is back at PlayStation leading Naughty Dog's art team after a brief stint doing the same at Netflix.
Grassetti first joined PlayStation in 2012 after working on Dragon Age 3 and Mass Effect 3 as BioWare's senior character artist. He then oversaw the art teams for The Order 1886, Infamous: Second Son, and Killzone: Shadow Fall, before becoming Sony Santa Monica's lead artist for God of War and then art director for God of War: Ragnarok.
Netflix recently hired him to run the art department of its ambitious and talented AAA studio, which reportedly closed in October.
Grassetti revealed on Twitter that he has now joined Naughty Dog and his LinkedIn profile confirms that he is the studio's art director starting in December 2024.

It was reported in October that Naughty Dog's next excursion is all about “player freedom,” and studio head Neil Druckmann said in 2023 that he was interested in “trying something a little new, a little different, that Not everyone is going to do it.” as.”
Druckmann has also cited his interest in Elden Ring and Inside for the way they break away from the traditional narrative structure of video games, so it sure seems like Naughty Dog's next game could be a pretty significant departure from the game's previous efforts. study in terms of game design. and tell stories, but only time will tell.
