Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched the LIC Bima Sakhi scheme on Monday. This scheme has been prepared keeping women in mind. In this, women will first be given training for three years regarding life insurance. After training, women will be able to work as agents of LIC. LIC's Bima Sakhi will be given a stipend during the three years of training. Under this scheme, women can work as Bima Sakhi of Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC). This will create employment and earning opportunities.
Eligibility to become LIC Bima Sakhi
If you are a woman and want to play the role of LIC Bima Sakhi (as a LIC agent), then according to the official website of LIC, you should be at least 10th pass. Also keep in mind that the minimum age on the date of application should be 18 years. Maximum age at the time of entry will be 70 years (last birthday). Understand one thing now that the appointment of any person under LIC Bima Sakhi Scheme will not be considered as salaried appointment as an employee of the corporation.
Which documents need to be given?
To join LIC as LIC Bima Sakhi, self-attested copy of age proof, self-attested copy of address proof, self-attested copy of educational qualification certificate will be required. Latest passport size photograph will have to be uploaded along with the application form.
Some things which are more important to understand
Relatives of existing LIC agents or employees will not be eligible to be recruited as LIC Bima Sakhi. Relatives will include spouse, children (whether dependent or not), including adopted and stepchildren, parents, brothers, sisters and immediate in-laws. Also, retired LIC employees or former agents who want to be re-appointed will not be given agency under this scheme.
