Chandigarh. Chandigarh registered a thrilling twowicket win over Odisha with one ball to spare in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy being played in Vizianagaram. In reply to Odisha's 2057, Chandigarh achieved the target in 19.5 overs for the loss of eight wickets. Earlier, Chandigarh won the toss and decided to field first.
Odisha scored 2057 runs in the scheduled twenty overs with the help of top scorer Gaurav Chaudhary 74 and unbeaten Aarshiwad Swain 43. For Chandigarh, Rajangad Bawa, Nikhil Sharma and Jagjit Sandhu took two wickets each. In reply, despite the best innings of opener Arsalan Khan (51) and Amrit Lubana (52), Chandigarh looked struggling at 1797 at one time.
Gaurav Puri's explosive inning of 37 runs on 18 balls took Chandigarh till the last over, after which Jagjit Sandhu's unbeaten 11 runs were very important and the match was won with one ball remaining.
