Creature Commandos star Steve Agee says that while starting the DCU with an animated show is “a lot at stake,” fans can rest assured that the future of film and TV adaptations of the comic book giant is in good shape. hands.
“I never would have imagined that James would do an animated show, so it was an incredible surprise. And then the fact that he's kicking off the world was like, wow, the stakes are high,” Agee tells GamesRadar+. “But it's a typical James Gunn project where, even though it's animated, James' first priority in any project he does is the story and the characters. You know, the backstory, the heart of these characters, the arts of these characters come before any type of comedy. or before the action or anything.
“There's a very big, blurry line between good and evil, and all of these characters have amazing arcs, and that's been continued with James, you know, going back to his early projects. I think [Creature Commandos] establishes a world where people can have the confidence to know that [the DCU] He will still be voiced by James Gunn. “Everything is going to be fine.”
Creature Commandos is the first project to kick off James Gunn and Peter Safran's new DCU slate, followed by season 2 of Superman and Peacemaker. Agee reprises his role as John Economos from The Suicide Squad and Peacemaker, jumping back and forth between live action and animation, because yes, the animated shows in the DCU are all canon (and this means Clayface could very well make a movie of live action). appearance at some point later).
