He said, “We have given one billion dollars of financing to Haryana in the last 50 years.” Regarding the upcoming financing, Koum said, “We will give the same amount of financing in the next five years as we have given in the last 50 years. . I am very excited that we can help Haryana play a bigger role in making India 'developed' by 2047.'' He said that in addition to the $1 billion given directly to Haryana as loan, the state has also benefited from pan-India projects financed by the World Bank. Saini said in a statement that the state will soon become a global artificial intelligence (AI) hub with the help of the World Bank.

Punjab sought help from the World Bank

Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Friday sought assistance from the World Bank to accelerate growth, improve public services and enhance the overall quality of life for citizens. According to an official statement, the Chief Minister showcased Punjab's strong reform agenda during a meeting with Auguste Tano Comé, India Region Director at the World Bank. In this meeting Mann focused on fiscal prudence, better governance and enhanced service delivery as key factors in seeking financial assistance. “The proposed financial assistance is expected to support Punjab's growth priorities, which include infrastructure development, human resource development and social welfare initiatives,” Mann said. While talking to PTI, Comey said that Punjab got the first loan from the World Bank in 1961 and since then one billion dollars has been given to the state. “In Punjab we discussed the chief minister's ambitions for the state. He is interested in working with us on an education project,” he said.
