Automobile companies have started announcing increase in the prices of vehicles one after the other as soon as the new year starts. Joining this trend, BMW Motorrad, the two-wheeler unit of German automobile manufacturer BMW, said on Friday that it will increase the prices of all its model ranges by 2.5 percent from January 1, 2025. According to PTI news, the company said in a statement that this change in prices has been made due to increase in overall input costs and inflationary pressure.
Company's own logic
According to the news, the company said that this decision will help in ensuring BMW Motorrad's high standards of excellence and profitability in terms of quality, performance and brand experience. The company officially began its operations as the Indian subsidiary of the BMW Group in April 2017. The brand sells a range of premium motorcycles and scooters in the country. BMW Motorrad sells two-wheelers in India including the BMW G 310 R and BMW G 310 GS.
BMW-Mercedes have announced
BMW India has already announced an increase in prices of its entire car range by up to 3 percent from January next year. Earlier this month, Mercedes-Benz India had announced to increase the prices of its vehicles in India by up to 3 percent from next month. At the end of the year, most companies announce increase in the prices of vehicles in the new year. Apart from these companies, announcements of price increase will come from many other automobile companies in the coming days. Also, most of the companies give the logic behind this as increase in input cost.
