“Players who are already familiar Final Fantasy 14 “They will be able to relive the story on mobile devices,” Yoshida said, “while newcomers will have the opportunity to embark on a new adventure and experience the narrative in its entirety.”
Yoshida explained that from the world of Final Fantasy 14 has progressed through multiple patches and expansions, “a lot of content and narrative has already been developed.” Yoshida said Square Enix and mobile developer Lightspeed Studios “plan to release this content gradually and at a steady pace. We can adjust the release schedule based on player feedback, which could speed up the update cadence or maintain the pace we started with if that's what players feel is best.”
Final Fantasy 14 has received five expansions from Square Enix A kingdom reborn relaunch in 2013: Skyward, storm blood, shadow bearers, final walkerand dawn trail. It's a lot of content to analyze. Yoshida says that unlike the PC and console versions of FF14The mobile version is designed to be played in small portions and even on the go, to meet the expectations of mobile gamers.
Yoshida has not explained how Final Fantasy 14 Mobile will be monetized, but it doesn't look like Square Enix and Lightspeed are going to opt for a subscription model or a gacha-style model employed by games like Genshin Impact.
“Lightspeed Studios has proposed a number of solutions,” Yoshida said of the free mobile version of FF14. “Their proposals did not focus on a profit-first approach by promoting a gacha system. Instead, they proposed from the beginning a design that respects the essence of Final Fantasy 14and encourages long-term commitment. Our goal is to ensure that players can enjoy Final Fantasy 14 [Mobile] for a long time and at the same time generate small and sustainable income that allows as many people as possible to play.”
Final Fantasy 14 Mobile will launch in China, followed by a global launch “shortly after,” Square Enix says.
