New Delhi: Congress General Secretary Sachin Pilot said on Friday that he is confident about the victory of Maha Vikas Aghadi i.e. MVA in Maharashtra. He said that after getting the majority, it will not take long for the alliance constituents to decide on the post of Chief Minister. The Congress leader also said that the decision on 'who should be given which post' will not take more than a day. Let us tell you that the party had given the charge of Marathwada region to Pilot and he had campaigned vigorously in Maharashtra, Jharkhand and by-election constituencies.
'Haryana was a shock and very surprising'
The Congress leader rejected exit poll indications that the BJP-led alliance would get a majority in both the states. A day before the results, Pilot said that the results of Maharashtra and Jharkhand assembly elections as well as by-elections held in various states will make BJP and NDA 'face to face with reality'. Regarding the party's prospects in these elections after the defeat in Haryana, the Congress General Secretary said that Haryana was a shock and very surprising, but Maharashtra and Jharkhand are a 'different story'.
'I think we will see a change of government in Maharashtra'
Pilot said, 'There is a clear desire among the voters for change in Maharashtra because the 'double engine' government that was running was not living up to any of their expectations. The kind of campaign we ran, the kind of guarantees we promised, our alliance partners, the selection of candidates, our statements were positive and got good response. So I think we will see a change of government in Maharashtra. Let us tell you that Pilot held a total of 55 public meetings during the assembly election campaign, out of which more than 2 dozen were in Maharashtra alone.
'BJP has no credible face in Jharkhand'
Pilot said that a sitting Chief Minister in Jharkhand was put in jail on some grounds and finally got relief from the Supreme Court. He said that this kind of misuse of central agencies has not been liked by the voters of the state. Pilot said, 'BJP has no credible face in Jharkhand. I feel that the 'INDIA' alliance allies of the opposition parties in both the states are in a good position to form the government.
