Hyderabad Crime Branch has revealed a major case of theft in Mandaruni village of Balasore district of Odisha. During the investigation, more than Rs 20 lakh were recovered, which were hidden in a heap of manure. In this theft case, the police have detained a woman and her son, while the main accused is absconding.
This case of theft came to light when an Agro Industries company in Hyderabad lodged a complaint of theft of about Rs 21 lakh from its office. Agro industry expressed suspicion on a person named Gopal Behera. Allegedly, before committing the crime, Gopal switched off the company's CCTV cameras and then ran away with the money.
He took the money to the village and hid it in a pile of manure.
After the theft, Gopal gave the money to his brother-in-law Rajendra Behera. Rajendra took the money to his village Mandaruni and buried it in a pile of manure near his house. He felt that this place was so insignificant that no one would pay attention to it. However, due to the intelligence of the police and continuous investigation, this hidden money was recovered. During the investigation, the Crime Branch team tried to trace Gopal, but he fled from the spot. However, his brother-in-law Rajendra and his mother have been taken into custody. Interrogation of both is going on to find out who else was involved in this theft.
Police raiding in search of Gopal
Police are continuously raiding different places in search of Gopal Behera. The crime branch is trying to find out whether other people besides Gopal were involved in carrying out the theft. This method of hiding money was so unique that it became a topic of discussion among the local people. It is surprising for anyone to hide such a huge amount of money in an ordinary place like a heap of manure. The police is trying to catch the main accused as soon as possible. At the same time, interrogation of the arrested people is going on so that the entire conspiracy of theft can be revealed.
