IPL 2025 mega auction to be held in Saudi Arabia on 2425 November


New Delhi . The IPL 2025 mega auction will be held on November 2425 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. This program will run for two days. This is the second year that the IPL auction is being held abroad, but this time the event is clashing with the third and fourth days of the first Test of the ongoing BorderGavaskar Trophy in Perth. The IPL mega auction is watched by a lot of viewers as 10 IPL franchises will prepare their teams for the next three years (202527).

Recently, a total of 46 players were retained by all the franchises, with South African wicketkeeperallrounder Heinrich Klaasen being included as the most expensive retention. Sunrisers Hyderabad has retained him in their team for Rs 23 crore. Former India captain Virat Kohli (Royal Challengers Bangalore) and West Indies wicketkeeperbatsman Nicholas Pooran (Lucknow Super Giants) were the joint second most expensive retentions with a sum of Rs 21 crore. Player registration for IPL 2025 opens on 4 November 2024 ended, in which a total of 1,574 players (1,165 Indians and 409 foreigners) have registered to take part in the auction. The registered players include 320 capped players, 1,224 uncapped players, and 30 players from Associate Nations.

Rajasthan Royals will have the smallest budget of Rs 41 crore in the twoday auction as the Rajasthan Royals were one of the two teams that have retained a maximum of six players. Reigning champions Kolkata Knight Riders have also retained six players from their core group, but will have a budget of Rs 51 crore as their retentions include two uncapped players. Both teams will not have righttomatch cards in the auction.

Punjab Kings will have the tightest budget, which is Rs 110.5 crore, as they have spent only Rs 9.5 crore out of the total budget of Rs 120 crore on retaining uncapped duo Shashank Singh and Prabhsimran Singh. Punjab will have a maximum of four righttomatch cards in the auction.

Five teams (Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings, Gujarat Titans, Sunrisers and Super Giants) have retained five players, leaving them with only one righttomatch card in the auction.

Royal Challengers had retained three players. Because of this, they will have three righttomatch cards, while Delhi Capitals retained four players and will go into the auction with two righttomatch cards.
