IIM Calcutta This time has set a new record in terms of placement. IIM Calcutta has achieved 100 per cent summer placements for the 61st batch of its flagship MBA programme. Under this, 475 students have received 564 offers from 175 companies in different sectors. The institute gave this information in a statement issued on Friday. The placement week conducted at IIM Calcutta was completed on 25th October.
Foreign companies offered maximum monthly salary of Rs 6.75 lakh
The average monthly stipend for placement students was Rs 1.89 lakh and the median stipend was Rs 2 lakh per month. The institute created a new record on both these standards. On one hand, domestic companies offered a maximum monthly salary of Rs 3.67 lakh, while on the other hand, international companies offered a maximum monthly salary of Rs 6.75 lakh to the students of IIM Calcutta.
What did Professor Ritu Mehta say about placement?
Professor Ritu Mehta, Chairperson of Placement Activities, said, “The results of the Summer Internship Proposals have once again demonstrated the future preparedness of our students in a highly competitive scenario.” IIM Calcutta said in a statement that during the Placement Week, The top 5 percent students who appeared have received a monthly salary offer of Rs 3 lakh from the companies.
Companies from many sectors including manufacturing, finance, technology, pharma were involved.
He said, “As management jobs are once again being adjusted and job postings are being reduced globally, we are extremely grateful to our employers for the confidence they have placed in our students and our educational processes. ''Like previous years, companies from all major sectors like FMCG, Manufacturing, Finance, Consultancy, Technology, Pharma and Education participated in IIM Calcutta.
