All those comparisons between Dragon Age and Baldur's Gate 3 made Swen Vincke “curious” enough to try BioWare's new RPG for himself.
In a tweet yesterday, Vincke, founder of Larian Studios and director of Baldur's Gate 3offered a cryptic little message to fans. Hinting that he had already completed most of a hefty 82GB download, Vincke said he was “very curious after all the talk.”
It is true that Vincke does not clarify exactly what this discharge is, but I do not think it is a great Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered fan or are downloading multiple different copies of the Monster Hunter Wilds beta again and again. In fact, I think there's only one major release this week that he'll probably refer to, and given that Dragon Age: Veil Guard It's also the closest to the download size you point out, I imagine that's what makes you “curious”.
I'm not the only one who thinks that, as BioWare senior developer Mike Gamble, who is currently leading development on (and teasing details on) Mass Effect 5, appeared in the responses to say that he hopes Vincke enjoys whatever he's downloading. .
Assuming Vincke is definitely talking about Dragon Age, it's likely that “all the talk” refers to the similarities between the two games. Baldur's Gate 3 and Dragon Age: The Veilguard are two new entries in a long-running companion-driven fantasy role-playing game series that had long lain dormant. Since Veilguard developer BioWare also developed the original two Baldur's Gate games, that link is stronger than it might have been otherwise. That proximity attracted the attention of several OG Baldur's Gate developers, including Dragon Age creator David Gaider. who was surprised to find that the character he created reappears in Baldur's Gate 3.
Vincke isn't the only Larian developer taking a look at Dragon Age: The Veilguard. as the studio's editorial director says, it's entirely “compatible with my experience during BG3.”
