Nintendo Music – Announcement Trailer – YouTube
Look
Nintendo is launching an official music streaming app where you can stream and download original music from its biggest IPs, including Mario, Zelda, Pokémon, Metroid, Splatoon, Animal Crossing, and more.
You can get a sneak peek of the Nintendo Music app in the trailer just above, which begins with the undeniably catchy theme from Animal Crossing: New Horizons. The app has curated playlists that allow you to listen to music from a specific game or focused on a particular character you like.
You can also choose from various playlists such as 'Powering Up', 'Break Time' and 'Good Night', presumably for working out, relaxing and going to sleep respectively. And like any good music streaming app, you can customize your own playlists with all your favorite songs. Personally, I'm very excited to check out the 'Deep Cut' playlist to see what Nintendo has uncovered from its darkest history.
Another feature I find exceptionally thoughtful is an option that allows you to hide music from certain games because, get it, you might want to avoid music spoilers in a game you haven't played yet. I probably never would have thought music was spoiler territory, but you know what? It makes sense! Maybe you want to save the excitement of listening to new Nintendo music for when you're gaming, and luckily Nintendo Music lets you do just that. You can even extend the length of the tracks if you're really vibing to a particular song and don't want it to end.
Nintendo Music is now available on the App Store and Google Play.
