New Tehri: A big news is coming out from Kirtinagar of Tehri Garhwal district in Uttarakhand. According to the information given by the police, three people have been arrested in Kirtinagar for allegedly molesting a minor girl, kidnapping her and inducing her to convert to religion. Tehri Senior Superintendent of Police Ayush Agarwal said on Wednesday that accused barber Salman alias Ishaan, 23, and his brother Shaan Malik, 24, were arrested from their house in Najibabad, Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday evening.

'The girl's mother had filed a complaint'

SSP Aggarwal said that Rakesh Negi, a local person who helped the girl elope with the accused, has been arrested from Jakhani in Kirtinagar. It is revealed that it was Negi who called the girl from home and helped her escape with Salman and Shaan. SSP said that the mother of this 16-year-old girl had lodged a complaint at Kirtinagar police station on Monday evening regarding the incident. The girl currently studies in 10th class. The police officer said that in the complaint, the girl's mother had accused Salman of molesting her daughter and trying to convert her.

'Girl missing on the day of filing complaint'

The police officer said that on the same day the girl's mother lodged the complaint, the girl went missing from her house around 11 pm. Agarwal said that immediately after his disappearance, a team was formed and based on the call details of the accused and analysis of CCTV footage, they found him in about 12 hours. The police team recovered the girl safely from Mojampur Tulsi of Garhi police station area of ​​Najibabad. Tehri Additional Superintendent of Police JR Joshi said that a case was registered against the accused under Uttarakhand Religious Freedom Act and POCSO Act.

Angry people took out a rally till Jakhani

Let us tell you that after the disappearance of the girl, the local people had vandalized the shops of a particular community on Tuesday. The anger among the people was so much that they took out a rally from Kirtinagar main market to Jakhani. In view of the anger of the general public, at present adequate police have been deployed in the market area and people have been appealed to maintain peace.
