Dubai, United Arab Emirates): Ten members of the national police force have been killed in an attack in Iran's restive southeast on Saturday. Local media has given this information. The semi-official ISNA, Mehr and Tasnim news agencies reported two deaths in the attack in Gohar Kuh, about 1,200 kilometers (745 miles) southeast of the Iranian capital, Tehran. An earlier report by the state-run IRNA news agency had said, without elaborating, that the convoy had been attacked by “riots”.
Iranian officials did not immediately identify any suspects in the attack and no group claimed responsibility, the AP reported. The attack came as Israel launched a major attack across Iran on Saturday morning. It is being told that this attack took place on Saturday on a convoy of Iranian police officers in the country's restive southern province of Sistan and Baluchistan. Initial reports said at least one activist group and several officials were killed in the attack. A report by the state-run IRNA news agency said the convoy was attacked by “riots”, without elaborating. It said further information would be released at a later date.
