New Delhi . Indian wicketkeeper batsman Rishabh Pant has left his teammate Virat Kohli behind in the ICC Test batting rankings, while New Zealand allrounder Rachin Ravindra has joined the top20 in the same category.
Rishabh Pant played innings of 20 and 99 runs in the first Test against New Zealand in Bengaluru. He has jumped three places to sixth place in the latest rankings of Test batsmen and has left Virat Kohli behind.
England batsman Joe Root is maintaining a good lead at the top of the rankings, while Yashasvi Jaiswal is in third place. He is the other Indian player in the top 10 along with Pant and Kohli.
From New Zealand's perspective, Ravindra has moved up 36 places to 18th position. He played innings of 134 and 39 not out, which gave the visiting team its first Test win in India since 1988. Opening batsman Devon Conway has moved up 12 places to 36th position.
Pakistan allrounder Salman Ali Aga played innings of 31 and 63 runs in the second match, after which he has gained eight places to reach 14th position. The visiting team ended the drought of Test victory on home ground by winning the second match.
Salman has scored 50 runs in three of his last four Test innings. He has now become Pakistan's highestrated Test batsman, leaving behind his teammates Babar Azam (19th), Mohammad Rizwan (21st) and Saud Shakeel (27th).
Pakistan spinner Noman Ali is back to 17th in the Test bowlers' rankings after taking 11 wickets in two innings against England in Multan, while his teammate Sajid Khan has moved up to 22 after being named player of the match in the same match. Has jumped to 50th position.
