Blizzard has revealed details of Diablo 4's upcoming Halloween event, and it sounds like a spooky, cobweb-filled, and potentially deadly good time.
According to a press release from Blizzard, Diablo 4's Halloween festivities will take place from October 29 at 10 a.m. PT until November 5 at the same time. During that period, you can get some ghoulish cosmetics, for a limited time and completely free just for logging in.
As of October 29, the reward for logging in is The Recluse's Host Mount, which appears to turn your horse into some sort of undead zombie horse. Log in on October 30 and you will get the Ichorflame Torch Mount Trophy, which looks like a spider-shaped torch. On Halloween, Recluse's Flask mount trophy is the login bonus, and then on November 1, you can get the Reclusive Trappings mount armor, which adds some spider decorations to your mount.
It's worth noting that if you miss out on any or all of the login rewards above, you can still claim them retroactively by logging in at any time before they disappear from the in-game store on November 5 at 12pm PST ).
The other part of the event is a little more mysterious. Blizzard only says that the celebration is called “Meat or Treat” and involves dungeon shrines. If you activate any shrine in a dungeon, “a surprise effect” will be activated in addition to the usual effect. “Will the Sanctuary grant you unexpected riches or will your dungeon vanish?” Blizzard says, rather ominously.
I'm thinking it means that during the event, dungeon shrines can apply an additional buff or spawn The Butcher, which is a terrifying idea. That said, if you're high enough level, it could be an easy way to farm The Butcher and get some easy XP.
Meanwhile, Diablo 4's new Spiritborn class is already dealing billions of damage thanks to bugs that can make it “literally 100,000 times stronger than any other class.”.
