National Conference MLA Omar Abdullah was sworn in as the Chief Minister of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday. He is the first Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir after it became a union territory. Let us tell you that in the assembly elections held in Jammu and Kashmir after almost 10 years, the alliance of National Conference and Congress has got majority. However, on Omar Abdullah taking oath as CM, his father Farooq Abdullah has said that it is a 'crown of thorns'.

Omar Abdullah took oath as the Chief Minister on Wednesday at the Sher-e-Kashmir International Convention Center in Jammu and Kashmir. After the oath-taking, Omar's father and National Conference president Farooq Abdullah said that the state is full of challenges and I hope that this government will do what it promised in the election manifesto. This is the crown of thorns and may Allah grant him (Umar) success and may he fulfill the expectations of the people. This is my message.
Struggle for 370 after statehood – Zaheer Abdullah
On the other hand, Omar Abdullah's son Zaheer Abdullah has said that the first priority of the new government of Jammu and Kashmir is to restore the status of state from a union territory. Zaheer Abdullah also said that after getting statehood, our real struggle for the restoration of Article 370 will begin. Article 370 will always be our priority.
What did Mehbooba say?
On the oath taking of Omar Abdullah, PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti has said that these are very auspicious days for Jammu and Kashmir. Because the people have got their government after many years. Mehbooba said that people have elected a stable government. The people of Jammu and Kashmir have suffered a lot, especially after 2019, and we hope that this new government will heal our wounds.
