Ola Electric The troubles of founder and CEO Bhavish Aggarwal are increasing. After electric scooters, now the government is keeping a strict eye on Ola cabs also. The Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) has directed cab service company Ola to implement consumer friendly changes. This includes providing refund options and giving receipts for 'auto rides'. CCPA gave this information on Sunday.
No refund option in bank account
The CCPA, led by Chief Commissioner Nidhi Khare, found that Ola's refund policy only provided coupon codes for future rides, while customers were not given the option of refund to their bank accounts. “This practice violates consumer rights,” the CCPA said in a statement. The regulator said a no-questions-asked refund policy cannot mean that a company will allow people to use the facility only the next time they avail the service. Encourage to do. CCPA has also ordered Ola to issue bills for all 'auto rides' booked through its platform.
Notice received for complaints related to Ola scooter
Let us tell you that earlier CCPA had issued a notice to Bhavish Aggarwal's company Ola Electric. More than 10,000 complaints related to quality and post-sales service were received against electric two-wheeler manufacturing company Ola in a year. After these complaints were not resolved, CCPA initiated action against Ola Electric and issued a show cause notice on October 7. CCPA has given 15 days to Ola Electric to respond to the notice.
NCH received more than 10,000 complaints in a year
The National Consumer Helpline (NCH) had received more than 10,000 complaints against Ola Electric over the past one year. These complaints were sent to the high command of the company for resolution, but the company did not show the interest it should have shown in resolving these complaints.
