Expressing “serious concern” over reports of attack on Durga Puja pandal and theft at Kali temple in Bangladesh, the Ministry of External Affairs has asked the Bangladesh government to ensure the safety of Hindus, all other minorities and their places of worship in the country.

In a statement, the External Affairs Ministry described the incidents as “reprehensible”. Also said that these incidents follow a “planned conspiracy to desecrate” temples and deities in Bangladesh. The ministry said, “We have expressed grave concern over the attack on the puja temple in Tatibazar in Dhaka and the incident of theft at the prestigious Jeshoreshwari Kali temple in Satkhira.” Bangladesh's daily newspaper 'Pratham Alo' reported in Tatibazar area of ​​old Dhaka An incident of alleged crude bomb being thrown at a Durga Puja pandal has been reported. It has been said in the news that this bomb was thrown on Friday night, but there were no casualties.
