New Delhi: India has taken strict action against the attack on more than 35 Durga Puja pandals in Bangladesh and the theft of the gold crown given by Prime Minister Modi from the temple. The Indian Foreign Ministry has today issued a stern warning to Bangladesh's caretaker Mohammad Yunus in this matter. Expressing “serious concern” over reports of attack on Durga Puja pandal and theft at Kali temple in Bangladesh, the Ministry of External Affairs has asked the Bangladesh government to ensure the safety of Hindus, all other minorities and their places of worship in the country.
In a statement, the External Affairs Ministry described the incidents as “reprehensible”. Also said that these incidents follow a “planned conspiracy to desecrate” temples and deities in Bangladesh. The ministry said, “We have expressed grave concern over the attack on the puja temple in Tatibazar in Dhaka and the incident of theft at the prestigious Jeshoreshwari Kali temple in Satkhira.” Bangladesh's daily newspaper 'Pratham Alo' reported in Tatibazar area of old Dhaka An incident of alleged crude bomb being thrown at a Durga Puja pandal has been reported. It has been said in the news that this bomb was thrown on Friday night, but there were no casualties.
Pandals have been decorated on a large scale in Bangladesh
There is a tradition of decorating Durga Puja pandals on a large scale in Bangladesh. But after the ouster of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, attacks on Hindus and their religious places have intensified. Friday was the ninth and last day of Navratri, the nine days that are sacred to Hindus. Durga Puja is also celebrated during this period, which culminates with Dussehra or Vijayadashami on the 10th day.
