New Delhi: President Mallikarjun Kharge has called a big meeting in Delhi today to review the defeat in Haryana elections. Apart from Rahul Gandhi, former Chief Minister Bhupendra Singh Hooda, Kumari Selja, Randeep Singh Surjewala and State President Uday Bhan Singh will also attend this meeting. Apart from these, Randeep Singh Surjewala and all the big leaders of Haryana Congress will attend the meeting. This meeting is expected to take place at 11 am.
Congress has called the result unexpected
Let us tell you that Congress has described the Haryana election results as unexpected. Congress has also lodged its complaints regarding this before the elections. Some Congress leaders have also alleged rigging in the elections. In Haryana, Congress has got 37 seats while BJP is going to form the government for the third consecutive time by winning 48 seats.
Congress lost due to rebels and factionalism
Senior Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda said on Tuesday that the election results are contrary to the atmosphere in the state. The Congress was buoyant after snatching five seats from the ruling BJP in this year's Lok Sabha elections and ran its election campaign around various issues including unemployment, farmers' plight and the Agneepath scheme. But it failed to fight a united battle and its factionalism was exploited by the ruling BJP throughout its campaign. During the elections, BJP kept targeting Congress by creating a narrative of conflict between Hooda and the party's prominent Dalit leader in Haryana, Kumari Selja.
