Washington: American army has taught a big lesson to Yemen's Houthis. In protest against the Houthi attacks in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden, the US Army has destroyed more than a dozen Houthi bases in air strikes. The US military said it carried out the targeted attack on more than a dozen Houthi rebel positions on Friday. During this period, Houthi's weapon systems, bases and other equipment were targeted. US officials confirmed the attack.
Yemen's Houthi rebels are supported by Iran. According to officials, various Houthi rebel positions in five locations were bombed by military aircraft and warships. Earlier reports had said that Britain was also involved in air strikes on Houthi rebel positions. But later officials clarified that Britain was not involved in these attacks.
Houthi controlled military base and port were also targeted
Houthi media reports said seven strikes were carried out on the airport in the major port city of Hodeida and the Houthi-controlled military base of Kathib. It was told that four attacks were carried out in Sayana area of Yemen's capital Sanaa and two in Dhamar province. The Houthi media office said three airstrikes were also carried out in Bayda province, southeast of Sanaa. The US military has carried out these attacks at a time when just a few days ago Houthi rebels had threatened to 'intensify military operations' in Israel after shooting down an American military drone in Yemen.
