Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Tuesday questioned the action of the Enforcement Directorate. Actually, ED has registered a case against Siddaramaiah under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). Regarding this, Siddaramaiah said that the provisions of PMLA are not applicable in the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) case. Speaking to the media, Siddaramaiah said on what basis is this a case of money laundering? Probably you too would feel the same. According to me, this does not constitute a case of money laundering. Because a plot was given in exchange for the land that was taken. So in what way is this a case of money laundering?
Siddaramaiah refused to resign
Let us inform that the Enforcement Directorate on Monday registered a case against Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah for alleged irregularities in the process of allotment of 14 plots to his wife by MUDA. ED has registered a case against CM Siddaramaiah and others under PMLA. Siddaramaiah has also refused to resign from his post in the MUDA case. He said that I work only according to the voice of conscience. In such a situation, there is no need to resign. Meanwhile, on Monday itself, Siddaramaiah's wife also wrote a letter to MUDA.
What did Siddaramaiah's wife say?
Siddaramaiah's wife wrote to MUDA offering to give up ownership of 14 plots. She said in her letter that nothing is more important than her husband's respect, reputation, dignity and mentality. The Chief Minister further said that, when someone decides to give up something to avoid a controversy, how can it be a crime or a confession. He said that the leaders of the opposition party are world leaders in telling lies. Siddaramaiah asked whether this matter will be closed after my resignation. Unnecessarily they are demanding my resignation.
