Jaishankar met counterparts from UAE to Singapore, Uzbekistan and Denmark – Top News Bulletin


United Nations: External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar met his counterparts from the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Singapore, Uzbekistan and Denmark on the sidelines of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly here. During the talks between the leaders, emphasis was laid on strengthening India's relations with these countries and expanding friendly relations. Jaishankar is in the US to attend the 79th United Nations General Assembly session. Jaishankar met his Singapore counterpart Vivian Balakrishnan on Friday.

He wrote on the social media platform 'X', “I had a good long conversation with Singapore's Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan.” He also met Uzbekistan's Foreign Minister Bakhtiyar Saidov. Jaishankar wrote on 'X', “It was a great pleasure to meet Prime Minister Saidov of Uzbekistan in New York today. I appreciate the progress made in our bilateral relations. I value his understanding of the region.'' He said, ''Had a warm meeting with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Rasit Meredov. Happy National Day of Turkmenistan. There was discussion on further enhancing our friendly relations.'' Jaishankar also met the Foreign Minister of the United Arab Emirates.

Jaishankar said this

“It is always a pleasure to meet my dear friend – Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of the UAE,” he said on the social media platform 'X'. There were discussions on mutual relations and world developments. He also met with Danish Foreign Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen on the sidelines of the General Assembly and shared his views on the Ukraine conflict. Jaishankar wrote on 'X', “Today it was a pleasure to meet the Foreign Minister of Denmark on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly. Appreciated the progress of our relations in a positive direction. Shared views on Ukraine conflict.'' Jaishankar said, ''Pleased to meet Netherlands Foreign Minister Caspar Veldkamp. There were frank and positive discussions on current strategic issues.'' Jaishankar also met Foreign Minister of North Macedonia Timko Mukunski and discussed investment, connectivity and cooperation with the region. (Language)
