Padang: A horrific accident has occurred in Sumatra island of Indonesia. The accident happened in an illegal gold mine. The incident occurred when people who were mining gold illegally were hit by a landslide. At least 15 people have died due to landslides. Dozens of people are reported missing. Officials have given information about this accident on Friday. At present, all possible help is being provided by the administration. Rescue teams are busy saving people trapped under the debris.
People are buried under the debris
Head of the local disaster agency office, Erwan Efendoi, has given information about the accident. Erwan said people digging for gold in the remote Solok district of West Sumatra province were buried under mud and other debris washed down from the surrounding mountainous area due to a landslide. He said that at least 25 people are still buried. Rescue workers have pulled out three people alive. Night and rescue work is going on.
