Illegal opium poppy powder worth Rs 1.26 crore seized, one accused arrested


Pratapgarh. The police team of Chhoti Sadri police station of Pratapgarh district took a major action on Monday and seized 840 kg 445 grams of illegal opium poppy powder worth Rs 1 crore 26 lakh 6 thousand 700. The police arrested smuggler Ramlal Patidar, son of Nandlal (50) resident of Gomana, who had kept packets of illegal drugs in a shed on the way.

Acting SP Banwari Lal Meena said that Choti Sadari police station incharge Narayan Lal and his team were patrolling on Monday under the supervision of CO Gopal Lal Hindonia to prevent illegal drug trafficking and arrest the accused. During this, the team saw a person placing plastic bags kept on the road inside a fence in Bombay Bazaar lane of Gomana village.

On seeing the police, the man ran inside the enclosure. On finding something suspicious, the police caught the accused Ramlal Patidar and checked the sacks kept inside. 8 quintals 40 kg 445 grams of illegal opium poppy powder was found in 42 sacks. The illegal drugs were confiscated and the accused was arrested.
