R Krishnaiah, who has left YSRCP, said- I am under pressure to form a party for backward classes – Top News Bulletin

YSRCP Rajya Sabha member R Krishnaiah on Wednesday said he will not join any party, a day after quitting the Upper House. He said he was under pressure to form a political party for the backward classes. Krishnaiah, a voice for the backward castes, said he would raise the issue of increasing reservation for backward castes to 50 per cent in the Assembly and local bodies as per their population ratio.

“Proposal from Congress and BJP”

Explaining the reasons for resigning from the Rajya Sabha, he said that being a member of the YSRCP, he was not able to meet the leaders of the political party with which the YS Jagan Mohan Reddy-led party has ideological differences to push the agenda related to the backward castes. “Offers are coming from the Congress and the BJP. There is also a lot of pressure on me from my supporters and well-wishers to form a political party for the backward castes. We are also thinking about this. I will take a decision in a month,” Krishnaiah said.
