Atishi inaugurated the new academic block of a government school in Maidan Garhi, Chhatarpur

New Delhi. Delhi government's Education Minister Atishi inaugurated the new academic block of a government school in Maidan Garhi, Chhatarpur. The new 4storey block of this school has 20 rooms, new labs and many other worldclass facilities including a library.

Atishi said on this occasion that the Delhi government has built a magnificent 4storey school in Maidan Garhi village where there is no space even to build a road. A few years ago, the school used to run in a broken tin room. Parents used to send their children here with a heavy heart. But today the situation has changed. Children of Maidan Garhi and its surrounding areas will get worldclass education here.

Atishi said that the education revolution in Delhi started in 2015. Before that, the government schools of Delhi were in a bad state. There was a foul smell everywhere. There were no teachers. Children did not come to school due to the bad condition of schools. Parents also avoided sending their children to schools running in dilapidated buildings. The education system of Delhi was in a bad state.

According to Atishi, earlier children of poor families in Delhi were deprived of good education, but in 2015 a miracle happened and Arvind Kejriwal, who changed the fate of Delhi, became the Chief Minister. He allocated 25 percent of the state budget for education. Such a large part of the budget is not spent on education in any other state of the country. Along with improving the condition of schools, the Delhi government also sent teachers abroad for training. Teachers of government schools of Delhi were sent for training to Cambridge University and Singapore. Apart from this, principals were sent for training to IIM Ahmedabad. The budget for training of teachers was increased from Rs 10 crore to Rs 100 crore.

Atishi said that the effect of Kejriwal government's education revolution is visible in Delhi. Now recommendations come for admission in government schools. The results of government schools are better than private schools. In the last 3 years, more than 4 lakh children have left private schools and taken admission in government schools. Children studying in government schools of Delhi are now clearing JEE NEET exams.

According to Atishi, Kejriwal made arrangements for better education of children by improving the education system of Delhi. He improved the health system of Delhi by building mohalla clinics and improving government hospitals. He saved the public from the blow of inflation by making electricity and water free. He empowered women by giving them the facility of free bus travel. The people of Delhi have elected an educated person as their Chief Minister and BJP, fed up with his public welfare work, sent Kejriwal to jail. But despite this, the AAP government continues to work for the people of Delhi.
