New Delhi. Honda Motors completed 76 years on Monday. The company was founded by its founder Honda Soichiro. The idea of ​​starting an automobile business came to him in 1946 when the Imperial Army fitted an engine to a bicycle to power a wireless radio.

Initially, Soichiro fitted some engines in bicycles and was successful in selling them. After this, the idea became a hit and new orders started coming in. Gradually, Soichiro was successful in selling more than 500 enginefitted bicycles.

After this, Soichiro decided to make the engines himself and on 24 September 1948, he founded Honda Motors in Hamamatsu, Japan with 34 employees and a capital of one million yen. After this, Honda's business kept growing.

The company launched the Honda C100 bike in 1953. The company's global presence began with its entry into the US on June 11, 1959. About a decade later, the company launched the fourcylinder Honda CB750 in the US. It was a superbike with a 750cc engine. It also had disc brakes and electric start. Due to its features, it also received the title of 'Motorcycle of the Century' in 2012.

During this time Honda started expanding its business by working in the car market along with bikes. First the T 360 truck was launched and then the S 500 sports car was launched.

The company launched its first car Honda N600 in America in 1969. The company kept launching new cars. After this, the company launched 'Honda Accord' in 1976. It became a hit as soon as it came to the world car market. This car remained the top selling car in America for many years. Then in 1982, it became the first company to produce vehicles in North America.

Honda first began working on aircraft and aircraft jet engines in 1986. In 2015, the Honda Jet received a United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) type certificate, after which the company began delivering aircraft to customers.

Today Honda is counted among the top companies in the world. The company's business is spread across automobiles, motorcycles, power products, marine, aviation, hydrogen as well as other sectors.
