Tokyo: The powerful earthquake in Japan has shaken the buildings like a swing. This has spread panic among the people. After this earthquake, the Japanese Meteorological Agency has issued a tsunami warning on Tuesday for the remote islands south of Tokyo. There is no information yet about loss of life or property due to this earthquake on the remote coast. Let us tell you that according to the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA), this earthquake occurred on Tuesday morning in the coastal area of Izu Island, whose intensity was measured at 5.9.
Minutes later, a tsunami warning was issued that waves up to one meter high were possible in the area. The JMA said a tsunami about 50 centimeters high was detected in the Yane district of Hachijo Island. The agency said the offshore quake struck about 180 kilometers south of Hachijo Island, about 300 kilometers south of Tokyo. According to Japan's NHK public television channel, residents of Hachijo Island said they did not feel the earthquake and only heard the tsunami warning. Japan is located in the 'Ring of Fire', an area of the Pacific Ocean that is prone to earthquakes. (AP)
