PM Modi left for Delhi, Zelensky said thank you for peace efforts – Top News Bulletin


Prime Minister Narendra Modi left for Delhi after concluding his three-day visit to the US. During his visit, he attended the Quad Leaders Summit and the Summit of the Future (SOTF) at the United Nations in New York. Along with this, he also held some key bilateral meetings during his visit. PM Modi met Ukrainian President Zelensky in New York. During this, Zelensky thanked him for the peace efforts. At the same time, after meeting PM Modi, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas said that India can play a role in solving the problem of Gaza.

Bilateral meeting with Ukrainian President

This was the second meeting between PM Modi and Ukrainian President Zelensky in a month. PM Modi visited Ukraine on 23 August. During this, he reiterated India's desire to contribute in every possible way to restore peace between Russia and Ukraine. The initiative for the meeting on Monday was taken by Zelensky. During the meeting, PM Modi told Zelensky that talks have been held with the leaders of many countries regarding the war and everyone believes that the war should end. On Monday, the two leaders discussed special issues. PM Modi is in touch with all parties including Putin and Biden regarding the restoration of peace between Russia and Ukraine. At the same time, Zelensky has thanked PM Modi for this initiative.

Meeting with the President of Vietnam

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also met Vietnam President To Lam on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) on Monday and discussed ways to enhance ties between the two countries and enhance cooperation in areas such as connectivity, trade and culture. “Met Vietnam President To Lam. We discussed the full spectrum of India-Vietnam friendship. We look forward to enhancing cooperation in connectivity, trade, culture and other areas,” PM Modi wrote on 'X'.

The two leaders discussed ways to further enhance the India-Vietnam Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and exchanged views on areas of mutual interests,” External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said in a post on 'X'. Earlier, PM Modi met Palestine President Mahmoud Abbas and expressed deep concern over the humanitarian situation in Gaza and reaffirmed India's support for the immediate restoration of peace and stability in the region.
