Barmer. The police team of Chauhatan police station of Barmer district has succeeded in arresting the accused Laxman Singh Jat son Ranaram resident of Kekad police station Sedwa district Barmer with a reward of Rs 5000 from Gujarat. The accused was absconding for 15 months in the case of kidnapping and ransom, who was included in the category of top ten wanted criminals at the police station level.
SP Narendra Singh Meena said that on 20 July 2023, a case was registered at Chohtan police station in connection with kidnapping and ransom. In which the accused Laxman Singh was absconding since the time of the incident. The absconding accused was being searched by including him in the list of top 10 wanted at the police station level.
SP Meena said that on the instructions given in the special campaign being run for the arrest of the accused who were wanted for a long time in the district, the accused was arrested from Tharad Bus Stand, Gujarat with the help of intelligence gathering and technical support by the team formed under the supervision of Additional Superintendent of Police Jasa Ram Bose and CO Kritika Yadav and under the leadership of SHO Padmaram. He was arrested after interrogation. Constable Harlal Poonia of Police Station Chohtan and Laxman Singh of Police Station Bakhasar had a special contribution in the arrest of the accused.
