The irony of the basic rights of the women of the country

GiveThe sensitive mothers and sisters of the nation, who account for about 50% of the country's huge population, are still waiting with hope towards the Constitution and the government in search of their basic and meaningful rights. A large section of women is still deprived of their freedom and fundamental rights. The development of women is being shown to be as huge as it is in reality and on the ground. A mass campaign and a separate integrated plan will be required for the material development of women in the country, only then will the talk of women empowerment be able to achieve its basic spirit. With the election of Her Excellency Draupadi Murmu ji as the 15th President of the Indian Republic, the possibilities of women empowerment and opening of new doors of development for tribal women have become stronger. The President is being considered synonymous with the struggle, will to live and the nurturer of moral values of women. With her being elected as the President, new energy, power and enthusiasm has been infused in the tribal class and especially in women as a whole. Now there should definitely be an increase in the participation of women in the gradual development of India, the selection of a tribal woman to such a prestigious post as the President is a good sign for Indian democracy.
At present, women account for 45% to 50% of India's huge population. Women are still not able to get their rights and participation, in such a situation, recruitment of women in the defense sector is coming as a good sign. In today's time, women have been showing great courage, bravery and energy in all fields, women are ready to play a leading role in every work by standing shoulder to shoulder with men. Now the armed forces i.e. defense service is also not untouched in this, the biggest thing is that Nirmala Sitharaman became the second Defense Minister of independent India. Before this, Mrs. Indira Gandhi was the first Defense Minister.
Now there is no area left untouched where women have not made their strong presence felt, it has been said from the past that if you educate a man then only a man becomes a teacher but if you give allround education to a woman then you are educating the entire coming generation. Nari Shakti cannot be kept away from the contribution of the country's progress and development for long. Women are the pivot of the family, home is made from the family, society from the home and the foundation of a strong nation is laid from the society and the entire society. In this way the foundation of the country is women empowerment.
Women understand very well how they should contribute to the development and defence of the country by behaving from home to the borders of the country. It is completely meaningless to imagine the progress and development of the country without women. Strong mothers build a strong nation. And the participation of women in the Border Defence Forces is a big example and result of this.
Among these examples, First Lieutenant Sunita Arora, First Air Marshal Padmavati Bandopadhyay, Captain Mitali Madhumita, First Wing Commander Pooja Thakur who gave Guard of Honor to the US President who visited India are the names of such officers who have played an important role in the defense sector and have portrayed a strong image by proving all the concepts about women wrong.
Given the physical structure and physical shape of women, their role in the defense service has been very less. We worship Maa Durga Bhavani and consider women weak. But their strength and participation was finally accepted and in 1992, for the first time the doors were opened for women in the Indian Army and 25 women candidates were trained at the Officer Training Academy Gaya. Prior to this, women were appointed only in the medical service.
Despite their participation in the army, they were not given equal rights as men. Women have been serving in defense services in legal, education, engineering, intelligence and Air Signal Corps. Women were commissioned only for 14 years under Short Service Commission, while only men were recruited in the army for the full term. In 2008, on the instructions of the High Court, women started being given permanent commission.
This proved to be a strong milestone for women empowerment. The Army Chiefs Committee recommended a permanent commission for women in the armed forces but refused to give them the role of combat soldiers. The argument given behind this was that sending women to the battle field is not good for their personal safety and according to the culture of the country, it would not be right to send women to fight the enemy or if they are captured by the enemy.
Therefore, it would not be appropriate to appoint women in the frontline, but later, after some amendments, women officers started being posted in the combat zone, but the outlook of society started changing regarding women and in 2016, it was accepted to appoint women in the combat area of the armed forces. There are only a few countries in the world that have appointed women on the war front.
Former Army Chief Bipin Rawat had also said that we want to see women and men equally and for this the Navy, Army and Air Force are preparing a framework which will also have pleasant results, the participation of women in the armed forces will come out strongly and like men, they will play an important role in protecting the country and fighting the enemies.
