Ghaziabad. An encounter took place between Ghaziabad police and criminals last night. The police team arrested one criminal in an injured state after being shot and the other during combing.
Both the criminals who were caught were wanted in dozens of cases of robbery and chain snatching. One of these criminals is also accused of being involved in a murder in Noida. The police was looking for them for many days. They have committed many incidents of chain snatching and robbery in many areas of Ghaziabad and Noida.
Police said that the Indirapuram police station team has arrested two notorious criminals who committed robbery and snatching. 1 pistol, 1 empty cartridge, 1 live cartridge, Rs 6,700 and the stolen bike used in the incident have been recovered from their possession.
ACP Swatantra Kumar Singh has told that last night Indirapuram police was checking at around 12 o'clock in the night. Then the police saw two youths coming on a bike. When the police signaled them to stop, they turned the bike and started running back. When the police chased them, their bike slipped and fell. During this, they opened fire on the police team.
According to the ACP, in the retaliatory action of the police, one of the miscreants got injured by a bullet while the other ran away and hid in the bushes. However, the police team arrested both the miscreants. One of the accused has revealed his name as Arif. He told that he is a looter and chain snatcher. A murder case is also registered against him in Noida, in which he was being searched.
