Los Angeles. The ‘American Story’ franchise is adding many more titles to its collection. The franchise has also found its next subject and work is underway on it under the FX network.
The new season will focus on John F. Kennedy Jr. and his wife Carolyn Bessette, reports Variety.
It is the next series after ‘American Horror Story’, ‘American Crime Story’, ‘American Horror Stories’ and ‘American Sports Story’.
Executive producers Nina Jacobson and Brad Simpson have been working with Ryan Murphy since the premiere of ‘American Crime Story’ in 2016. They have also served as executive producers on ‘Pose’. It has been confirmed that ‘American Love Story’ which tells the story of John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette will move forward on FX.
“We were very interested in telling that story,” Jacobson told Variety.
“We have great scripts on it. We’re trying to figure out when it will come out. It’s a story that’s really resonating right now, it’s amazing. A lot of young women are looking at her as representative of a certain time period which is really fascinating, and hopefully we’ll be able to bring it to the screen soon,” Simpson said.
According to Variety, the new series was first announced for 2021, along with Studio 54: American Crime Story, The People vs. OJ Simpson, The Assassination of Gianni Versoche, and a possible fourth installment of Impeachment.
However, there have been no updates on ‘Studio 54’, and it seems unlikely that this is possible.
Simpson said, “The reason we can never announce anything is because one time Ryan said, ‘Studio 54,’ and it’s been 10 years now, and in every interview we do, people bring it up. Nothing against you.”
He added, “We develop many things and many ideas. It’s not like we’re trying to be secretive, we see what comes out and what shows up. We’ve learned that if we announce anything, it ends up on Wikipedia.”
