Greater Noida. Police of Greater Noida’s Bisrakh police station arrested a criminal after an encounter last night. The accused got injured after being shot in the leg during police action.
According to the police, the accused used to steal belongings of passengers sitting in the auto. A bullet bike, stolen jewellery and illegal weapons have been recovered from him.
Police said that on September 19, late at night, Bisrakh police station was checking vehicles near Lotus Valley School. Meanwhile, a suspicious person was seen coming on a bullet bike. The police signaled him to stop.
After this, he turned the bike and started running towards the service road towards Char-Murti roundabout. The police team started chasing him. Meanwhile, the suspect riding the bike stopped the bike near a building under construction and opened fire on the police team.
In the retaliatory action of the police, the miscreant Ravi got injured after being shot in the leg. The police recovered from him an illegal pistol of 315 bore, one empty cartridge and one live cartridge, one chain, a piece of broken chain and the bike used in the incident.
During police interrogation, the miscreant has told that he steals jewellery and valuables from the bags of passengers while sitting in an auto rickshaw. Apart from this, sometimes he also snatches chains from a bike. Just a day before, the miscreant had stolen a chain from a woman’s handbag from an auto near Char-Murti. The injured miscreant has been sent to the hospital for treatment. Other criminal history of the accused is being investigated.
