Whenever I recommend The bearI always sell it like, “Hey, do you want to be one?” In fact Are you stressed?” Most people look at me like, “No, are you crazy?” but eventually they give in and realize that it's one of the best Hulu shows of all time. That's part of its charm, but I'm still curious as to how The bear Has Season 3 won so many Emmys in the comedy category when it's not one of them? The show even broke its own record from last year, when it won 10 awards, after winning 11 Emmys on Sept. 16.
Hulu shows racked up plenty of wins at this year's Emmy Awards, with Shogun winning a total of 18 awards and Tricks – which has been renewed for season 4 – taking home the coveted win in the 'Best Comedy Series' category, along with 'Writing for a Comedy Series' and 'Lead Actress in a Comedy Series'. But it was The bear which continued to win big in the category, with its cast taking home multiple awards including Jeremy Allen White, Ebon Moss-Bachrach and Liza Colón-Zayas.
Despite having been awarded for their comedic performances, the cast of The bear He is best known for his incredibly intense acting. All the memes that come out of the show make fun of that, whether it's sarcastic jokes about yelling “corner!” when you're microwaving your food at work or other things that require little effort, they all focus on the fact that he is Simply stressful.
Audiences seem to be going crazy for the food drama subgenre in general, but I think “stressful cooking” deserves its own dedicated subcategory these days, especially when we’ve seen movies like The menu – one of the best movies of 2022 – and Boiling point (Here are five more food thrillers to enjoy below if you're looking for more) that delight audiences around the world.
We never seem to get tired of seeing how a kitchen works and how it can drive someone crazy. Maybe it's the delicious photography, the often unlikable characters or just the pressure that's generated that gets the audience excited. Whatever it is, it's working wonders.
It is true that, The bear It has some funny moments that set it apart from similar series, like these six intense TV dramas, which it should, considering it just received so many comedic acting awards. Over time, the characters seem to interact as if they were real-world colleagues and friends, and the natural wit that comes with it is a big draw for the series.
The Original Beef of Chicagoland features some very colorful personalities who are always insulting each other, and it's this disparity of people that really makes the show come to life. The characters seem like people you'd meet in a diner: The bear He leaves you stranded in the middle of his workday and you run after him like a headless chicken. This “fly on the wall” approach means you witness things you wouldn’t otherwise see as a customer – that in itself can be hilarious, but it’s not the usual slapstick comedy you might be used to.
It is very likely The bear Season 4 will continue down the same path of exploring some intense themes if renewed. But it manages to balance the harsh realities of life with some moments that are so shocking and improvised that you can't help but laugh. Among them is comedian John Mulaney's iconic performance in The bear Season 2 episode 'Fishes,' Ebon Moss-Bachrach mocking Zack Snyder fans in the first episode, and of course… the Xanax birthday party incident (if you know, you know).
