Milind Soman Fitness: 'Keep challenging yourself' – Milind Soman's fitness mantra for everyone | – Agency

Milind Soman Recently, Milind completed a 240-kilometre Unity Run at Vasai Virar Fort. India’s most popular and undefeated fitness icon ran 240 kilometres barefoot from Pune on August 10. With the third edition of the Unity Run, Milind has covered over 1,100 kilometres. In the first Unity Run, he ran 420 kilometres from Mumbai to the Statue of Unity in Kevadia, Gujarat, while in the second edition in 2022, he ran 450 kilometres from Jhansi to the Red Fort in Delhi.
While most people are out of breath and running is not explored as much as it should be, Milind Soman was as fresh as Captain Vyom was, after finishing his recent marathon. Talking about his ever-present fitness, which of course requires a lot of hard work, Milind has one thing to advise adults: keep challenging yourselves.
For those unaware, Milind Soman won a silver medal for his country in 1984 at the South Asian Games in swimming. When asked how he found a new passion for athletics, Milind replied elatedly, “I didn’t really change sports. I stopped swimming in 1988 and started running in 2003. The Mumbai Marathon was announced and I got interested in it. And then I just kept going!”

Milind's views on fitness are simple, basic, but rarely mentioned. “Keep challenging yourself gradually. First, challenge yourself for a minute, see how many push-ups you can do. Adopt the mindset of challenging yourself. This will motivate you,” he says.
“If I can run without a coach, nutritionist or any other expert, that shows the enormous capacity of the human body,” he adds, emphasizing the will of the individual and the push that must be given to stay fit. “If someone has done it, you can do it too.”
To stay fit, and before you embark on a fitness journey, figure out why you want to be fit. Is it to work sedentary hours? Is it for some physical activity you'd like to try? Is it for some personal reason?

As for his diet, Milind says he eats almost everything. Processed and refined foods are out of his diet. “I prefer fresh, home-cooked food,” he says.
